Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 May Go Exclusive with TSMC’s 2nm Tech

With its 2nm Exynos 2600, Samsung has made a big step in chip department. Earlier, it said that it can use its latest technology and maintain healthy yields to compete with competitors such as TSMC. Such innovations made the brand secure an agreement with Tesla. Nevertheless, the new development suggests that talks are still not coming to fruition when it comes to contract manufacturing for brands such as Qualcomm. TSMC’s 2nm N2P process will be used exclusively for the next Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 elite Gen6 Pro, according to reports.

According to Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, “We’re there special identifiers for Qualcomm’s next chips — probably the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 8 elite Gen 6, which will be called SM8975 and SS8750.” But he says that Qualcomm is still using TSMC as its foundry partner, citing the fact that it remains with a source of telecommunications company. Both are faked on TSMC’s 2nm N2P node.

Having said that, Qualcomm was previously reported to have completed design work on Samsung’s version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, saying ‘If things are going wrong, then the next chips will be mass-produced on our 2nm GAA node.

Adreno 850 GPU and LPDDR6 RAM

Qualcomm samples of its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship SoC were reportedly sent by Samsung for testing. Yet, if that meets the company’s high expectations, we’ll only know later. Whether Qualcomm enters negotiations with Samsung for the value of its is best. That’s because this is considering a dual-sourcing strategy that will help its prospects. That’s not a bad thing, as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could be very expensive and reserved for ‘Ultra’ flagships. But this could save the production cost of and help maintain better margins.

Moreover, in addition to Digital Chat Station, the next Snapdragon chips will have a 2 + 3 + 4 CPU cluster. This contrasts with the ‘2 + 6’ cluster of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and 8 elite Gen 5 . The chips will be equipped with an Adreno 850 GPU, which is supported by the Pro model and new generation LPDDR6 RAM tech in the chips.
