Xfinity Tops the List of Most Frustrating Companies Shocking Absolutely No One

Faced with it, let’s face it. We all hate calling customer support. But I actually prefer talking with customers rather than calling them, so that people know how long it takes to get on hold.

A recent release of the 2025 Consumer Friction Index is a product released by Well, Pine, an AI-powered consumer agent. The most common is a list of the companies that frustrate customers, in essence. And if you thought ISPs and mobile carriers were at the top of the list, then you’d be right.

Here are the top 12 companies that “appeared most often in Pine requests” according to the Index.

  1. Xfinity
  2. AT&T
  3. Verizon
  4. Spectrum
  5. T-Mobile
  6. Chase
  7. Amazon
  8. Netflix
  9. GEICO
  10. Delta Air Lines
  11. United Airlines
  12. Progressive

Most of these are not surprising, considering that they all have hundreds of millions in customers. The list was also made by the ISPs such as Xfinity and Spectrum, and all three wireless carriers in particular. The fact that T-Mobile is so far below the other two, a bit surprising but they do have less customers does mean more to them?

Why did these companies frustrate customers?

This is largely due to the constant charge of s that continue to rise over time. This is pretty well known for these admin charges that supposedly are all about taxes but they rise so often in the wireless carriers and ISPs. If Verizon charges $1 on every line, that’s an extra $146 million a month (or about $1) and think about it — even if the company is increasing its fee by that point, what does this mean? A year, 75B (75B per year) . That’s a huge revenue boost for Verizon, or any other company that does this.

Basically, the thing that most customers who come to them are looking to reduce their bills is about bill negotiation,” Pine said.

Pine says the next big group is refunds and compensation. Refunds are a long-term issue among consumers who have been fed up with waiting for their refunds. If you returned something, Amazon was a bit quick to get your refund. Now they take their sweet time, not the one who is a and don’t even have to be alone.
